Magic Box Assignment 1

So I have joined an online class for digital painting called Oatley’s Magic Box and this is the first assignment. Using the lasso tool and the gradient tool create a “moody” image. I really like how this technique creates a very soft light, the drawback being that all the edges are super soft, but nothing that some tweaking won’t help. Also part of the assignment is to create something called “color comps” where you basically take the same image and use 4 different colors to see which works best.

I feel like I could have taken the image further, but said “enough” and put down my pen to get back to paying work.
